Money exchanges are available all over Ras Al Khaimah, and offer reasonable exchange rates, which are usually slightly better than the banks. Hotels will usually exchange money and travelers checks (at a standard hotel rate), but you will get a better exchange rate at the money exchange offices found in the shopping malls. Most places shops, hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, and there are ATM machines in the shopping centers. Some smaller retail shops prefer cash and will charge an additional 5 per cent for processing credit card payments.
