RAK FTZ enters the US market
Oussama El Omari, CEO and Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZA) recently oversaw the final preparation stages of the Zone’s soon-to-be-launched Business Centre in New York City, USA.
Designed as a one stop shop for US businesses expanding to the UAE market, as well as a gateway to the US market for businesses operating within UAE, the New York Business Centre, which will boast fully functional, ready-to-use offices, and flexi-facilities (shared offices / desks), is a strategic addition to RAK FTZ’s existing international liaison offices in India, Turkey and Germany and its Innovation and Promotion Centres and Business Centres in the UAE – Emirates Business Centre in Business Park, (Ras Al Khaimah), RAK Businessmen Centre in The Fairmont Dubai Hotel (Dubai), RAK FTZ Promotion & Innovation Centre in Twin Towers (Dubai), and RAK FTZ Promotion & Innovation Centre in Abu Dhabi Commercial Centre (Abu Dhabi).
During El Omari's visit, he separately met up with Leslie M. Schweitzer, Senior Trade Advisor for the US Chamber of Commerce, and Carolina Rendeiro, President and CEO of Business Centres International, to explore trade opportunities, enhance relations between their respective organisations and gain insight on business centre operation on the US market and worldwide.
While he was in the US, the Office Business Centre Association International (OBCAI) took the opportunity to invite him to Florida to participate as a speaker in the 22nd OBCAI Annual Conference breakout session on Finance. Held from the 1st to 4th of October at Disney's Cotemporary Resort in Orlando, the Conference was a four-day event that brought together industry professionals from more than 96 companies based all over the world for a rich exchange of information and ideas.
Immediately capturing the interest of OBCAI participants with an optimistic report, El Omari discussed the worrying economic conditions in the US and their impact on the world economy, but went on to cite data proving that, despite these alarming changes, the UAE Market has not been affected. He also introduced the UAE as one of the fastest-growing gateways to Europe and Asia and as a strategic vantage point for businesses looking into breaking in both markets.
El Omari wrapped up his presentation by introducing RAK FTZ’s New York Liaison Office and Business Centre to the conference participants and encouraged business owners and investors to come to the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to set-up their operations, illustrating the advantages that RAK FTZ holds.
