RAK FTZ shares technical expertise with Tranguard Group

RAK FTZ is among the institutions which SAP has recognised as having successfully implemented an integrated platform using SAP to execute its business operations.
Transguard Group, a part of the Emirates Group and the largest business support services conglomerates in the Middle East and the leading security services provider, has recognised the significant contribution of RAK FTZ's IT information system towards the success of its operation. Prompted by SAP's endorsement and the free zone's achievement in the implementation of Human Capital Management System (HCM), representatives from Transguard Group including their Head of Information Technology, Steve Jenkins and Senior Payroll Manager, Thomas Mathew visited the free zone to exchange ideas and gain from the implementation experience of RAK FTZ's Information Technology team. Further they shared best practices and functional and product features of HCM module within SAP.
Jerry Williams, Director of Information Technology welcomed the visitors and provided an overview of the free zone's IT Infrastructure and Information System Platforms. He briefed them on the challenges faced during the implementation, and how proper planning can help to resolve and mitigate the risks in implementing such large systems and create success. He further shared how various aspects of the system have been of great assistance to the zone. “The system has helped to increase the operational efficiency and reduced the administrative work by 50 per cent,” he said. Prashant Murthy, the Lead Consultant for SAP, added how the HCM system has helped to organise and manage the free zone’s employee data and reduce payroll processing time.
Steve Jenkins, Head of Information Technology at Transguard Group, expressed his gratitude towards RAK FTZ's cooperation and the time, information and experience shared by RAK FTZ's IT Department. He said, “The visit has made valuable contribution on our effort to explore suitable and effective HCM solutions.”

RAK FTZ has recently implemented SAP system successfully to run its entire end to end Business Processes. All its core business processes like Company Registration, License Renewal, De-registration processes, Amendments etc, now runs through SAP bringing an enterprise wide real time integration between the various business processes which includes Financials, Materials management, HCM, Plant Maintenance, Sales & Distribution, and Real Estate Management modules. “Our investors are assured of fast and efficient service at par with outstanding free zones worldwide,” adds Williams.
