Dubai Healthcare City wins accolades at World Free Zone Convention

Dubai’s well-known free zone gets “Best Website for a Free Zone”

Dubai Healthcare City, one of Dubai’s premier free zones, was singled out for praise at the World Free Zone Convention (WFZC) 2010, taking place in Ras Al Khaimah, when its online portal was selected as the “Best Website of a Free Zone or Export Processing Zone.”

Hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone, the World Free Zone Convention 2010 was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

Announcing the IPAWorld Awards on the sidelines of the WFZC 2010, a panel of international experts said that Dubai Healthcare City’s website (www.dhcc.ae) emerged as the unanimous choice for its visual impact, depth and clarity of information, and user-friendliness and site navigation. Last year, the award went to Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone.

“The IPAWorld Best Website Awards is an important element of the convention since it encourages free zones across the world to actively explore the potential of the online medium,” said Oussama El Omari, RAK Free Trade Zone, which is hosting the convention. “By building their online presence, free zones can spread their awareness and attract potential investors beyond their traditional boundaries.”

Launched in 2002, Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) today is home to two hospitals, over 90 outpatient medical centres and diagnostic laboratories with over 1,700 licensed professionals occupying 4.1 million square feet in the heart of Dubai.

Bahrain Logistics Zone (www.bahrainlogisticszone.com) was selected as the “Runner-Up” is the Best Website category. The zone is first boutique logistics area and is dedicated to value-added logistics activities, bringing the region’s most well-respected logistics companies a bespoke offering created to suit their needs.

RAK FTZ is also the Platinum Sponsor of the two-day conference and exhibition, held under the theme ‘Gathering Global Support For Free Zone Industry’ and the slogan ‘Harnessing economic zones worldwide to the cause of economic recovery, dynamic growth and strengthened world trade.’
