RAK FTZ Launches Mobile Phone Website at GITEX

m.rakftz.com enables mobile users to easily access information
RAK FTZ is the first major free zone in UAE to have mobile website

Adding another first to its credit, the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone [RAK FTZ] – one of the fastest-growing and most cost-effective free trade zones in the UAE – today launched a mobile phone website at GITEX Technology Week, the largest ICT exhibition currently under way in Dubai.

With the launch of m.rakftz.com, RAK FTZ has become the only major free trade zone in the UAE to offer mobile phone website services. The latest addition enables visitors to easily access information and details about RAK Free Trade Zone through their internet-enabled mobile devices.

With the mobile phone website, users can sign up to receive the latest information about RAK FTZ.  Equipped with the latest technology, the website is able to recognise and adjust to all internet-enabled mobile devices, without the need to download any application or making any changes to the handset.

Oussama El Omari, CEO of RAK FTZ, said the launch of m.rakftz.com is another unique offering from RAK Free Trade Zone for the benefit of clients and businesses. “We are thrilled to be among the first and the only major free zone in the UAE to launch the mobile phone website, offering our clients enhanced access to our services, whenever and wherever they wish. This reinforces our ongoing commitment to providing our partners and clients with an exceptional experience. We are going live with the English version today and the Arabic version would be operational after a month.”

Innovation is a concept that RAK FTZ has adopted and the new service is another milestone in RAK FTZ’s efforts to providing the best enabling business environment to the investment community.

“What makes our services unique is that mobile phone users can log into our website, and navigate easily and quickly, without having to load content. We have enabled the industry-best technology to detect the mobile devices, thus making it a very interactive and informative experience for users. Overall, the system is capable of handling nearly 13,000 mobile handsets,” said El Omari.

Once the users log in, only the main content of the website is displayed and all images are compressed and rendered for each device. “The speed of surfing is approximately five times faster than surfing the original website as nearly 80% of the data load is reduced – an unmatched way to reaffirm our commitment to enable business environment,” he summed up.

Situated at Booth CC2-2 in Concourse 2, RAK FTZ is also showcasing its entire range of services during GITEX Technology Week.
