RAK FTZ signs MoU with ABC

Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), one of the fastest growing free zone in the Middle East, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian Business Council (ABC) to work together and contribute to each other’s services and events and further enhance the trade relationship between their respective countries.

The agreement was signed by Oussama El Omari, CEO of RAK FTZ, and Adam Malouf, Chairman of the Australian Business Council.

“We are very happy to welcome the Australian Business Council into the RAK FTZ network,” shares El Omari. “This agreement is just the first step, and it will surely up the ante of the business community within the UAE. We will work closely with ABC to bring our members together and give them opportunities that would otherwise not be available.”

Under the agreement, ABC, one of the leading business groups in the Middle East, will encourage business entities to become part of the RAK FTZ by physically establishing a presence in the free zone and/or collaborating and contributing to the events, initiatives and activities that RAK FTZ regularly conducts.

In turn, ABC will be able to provide a networking forum for their more than 800 members through regular RAK FTZ business lunches, special interest breakfasts and seminars to gain access to information and build their networks further.

RAK FTZ actively supports the entrepreneurial spirit within the country, and regularly organizes programs and activities, such as conferences and exhibitions featuring keynote speakers who share their unique insights on the Middle East Market, to further support their clients and partners.

By mandate of the MoU, both parties will also ensure that they share information on a regular basis. Through this, they will empower their respective members and give them the opportunity to network and take advantage of the vast resources that will become available to them including a wide-range of activities that entail promotions as well as business matchmaking sessions.

The UAE and Australia have a long and rich history of business and trade relations. Through the years, ABC, with corporate and individual members representing Australia’s top companies from different industries, such as mining, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure, information technology, financial services, banking and energy, has played an integral role in nurturing this relationship,  and is confident that this agreement will serve to strengthen it further.

The MoU will enhance understanding between the two entities in terms of their products and services, market scope, capabilities, experience and standards and will pave the way for a successful relationship that promotes their respective businesses.
