RAK FTZ to celebrate UAE National Day

Visitors and residents alike in the scenic coastal emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) will discover a wealth of activities and experience old world charm at Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone’s (RAK FTZ) National Day celebrations. To be held in RAK FTZ’s Business Park, the day's festivities will kick off at 9 o'clock in the morning with the RAK Police band, followed by a traditional dance performed by local children. A tent with ladies preparing Arabic treats will also be on location to serve those wishing a taste of some of the region’s favourite traditional snacks.

The main attraction that day, however, will be the unveiling of the new RAK FTZ Heritage Shop. The shop, which will offer on sale a variety of souvenirs, from locally-inspired artwork and paintings to hand-crafted leather camels and  decorative silver pill boxes, Al Noor T-shirts, cards and more, will also feature a display of framed photos depicting local people and traditions; antiques; and  other heritage items.  Located in the lobby of Business Centre 2, The Heritage Shop will be inaugurated by Maryam Al Murshedi, RAK FTZ’s Deputy Director General with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon.

“We look forward to celebrating the UAE’s 37th National Day,” remarked Al Murshedi. “We are happy to commemorate UAE’s achievements through the years and support the vision of the leaders of this country. With the launch of The Heritage Shop, we aim not only to celebrate UAE National Day but it is also our way of reaching-out to the community and our clients to promote the region's culture and traditions. RAK FTZ is a multi-cultural environment, celebrating National Day and the opening of our The Heritage Shop is a chance for everyone to come together as one family.”
